Bachelor of Science (Hons.)(Multimedia) is an academic programme under the Multimedia Technology Department in SMMTC. It requires students to take 122 credit hours to graduate. New applicants for the BSc (Hons.) Multimedia programme are required to submit a digital portfolio as a compulsory part of the admission process before they can be accepted into the programme. Refer to the digital portfolio guidelines for more details.
The aim of the programme (BSc. (Hons.)(Multimedia)) is to produce graduates with competitive knowledge, principles and skills in term of theoretical and practical foundation for designing, implementing and managing multimedia applications and also recognising the impact of multimedia on individuals, organisation and society.
Students are required to fulfill the following FIVE (5) components:

A multimedia digital portfolio is a comprehensive collection of creative works and projects that showcases an individual's skills, creativity, and expertise in various multimedia fields such as graphic design, animation, video production, interactive media, and web development. It serves as a visual and dynamic representation of a person's capabilities, allowing potential academic institutions (SMMTC) to evaluate new applicants talents and artistic approach in utilizing multimedia elements and tools. Recognizing the importance of showcasing creative potential, new applicants for the Bachelor of Science (Hons.) Multimedia program are now required to submit a digital portfolio as a compulsory part of the admission process, ensuring that candidates present a comprehensive reflection of their multimedia capabilities.
Digital Portfolio platform:
- Candidates can use any free available web development tools such as Wix, WordPress, Blogspot, and Behance.
- Candidates are advised to use their creativity in designing and developing the digital portfolio.
- Candidates are advised to use generative AI tools responsibly.
- Candidates need to provide a valid URL of the web (digital portfolio) in the Google Form that will be provided by the school management.
Digital Portfolio content:
- Candidates need to provide TWO (2) sections:
- Section 1 will include candidates' Curriculum Vitae (CV) infographics.
- Profile Photo
- Personal information
- Academic background
- Relevant multimedia skills
- Working experiences (if any)
- Achievement and awards (if any)
- Section 2 will include related works based on the SIX (6) areas provided:
- Candidates need to produce a digital portfolio of ORIGINAL WORKS or reuse ANY EXISTING WORKS (a minimum of THREE (3) multimedia areas provided).
- Candidates can choose any theme or genre for the digital portfolio. However, they should avoid touching sensitive issues such as racism, politics, and obscenity.
- Candidates must include 150-200 words explaining the techniques, tools, process, and idea generation for each sample of work.
- Section 1 will include candidates' Curriculum Vitae (CV) infographics.
