CMRU TALK SPACE WITH INDUSTRY: THE POWER OF A HIGH VALUE IDEA

image002 minSMMTC ONLINE: Sintok, UUM – 12th March, CMRU (Civic Media Research Unit) conducted a talk with 4As Malaysia (Association of Accredited Advertising Agents) for the program, CMRU Talk Space with Industry. The CEO of 4As, Mr Khairudin Rahim was requested to share his enormous involvement in this area with UUM. He focused on the infinite possibility of advertising and communication in our life. He shared on real case studies, his experiences in the advertising world and has inspired our students to embark aggressively on this expedition. The 2 hours and 45 minutes talk with full house audience was organised by CMRU with the support from SMMTC, class of Copywriting in Advertising, and PERMEDIA.

The objective of this talk, titled, The Power of a High Value Idea, is to help UUM students and academicians to understand how a real world business problem is overcome through careful repositioning. A case study of an old brand is presented, combining with a powerful advertising and communication idea, executed across numerous media channels. This proves the power of a big idea and persuasive advertising and communication can bring optimism to everyone.

Mr Khairudin also talked about how to be effective in marketing communications. He elaborated on matters such as minimised objectives, changing behaviour, touching the customers' emotions, and building hope from advertising research. The talk ended with a hope that this will developed the attitude of our students to be ambitious on crafting their career path focusing on bringing value to life. The takeaway from this talk is, advertising can be a major player in making an impression on living.
