About The Event

School of Multimedia Technology and Communication, Universiti Utara Malaysia welcome you to join us for our 7th International Conference on Communication and Media (i-COME’20).

Often there are high-quality studies by scholars who do not get the attention of industry and government. Similarly, some of the decisions made by the industry and the government are seen to be contrary to the results of scholarships. In academic contexts, higher education institutions often receive feedback on product production that does not meet industry expectations. In a move towards the industrial revolution 4.0 (IR4.0), such issues can provide a barrier if unexpectedly resolved, it can be a huge burden to all parties in the future.

In line with the theme of "Breaking the barriers, inspiring tomorrow", this conference also intends to involve all stakeholders including industry, public agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and students more intensively. Participants from various academic and professional fields are invited to discuss communication and media barriers, particularly scholarly and practical obstacles to the preparation for the IR4.0 era.

We invite papers from everyone in the academic and industrial sectors to discuss crucial concerns (and potential solutions) in relation to the above-mentioned theme from various communication perspectives.

Who should join us:
  • Academics
  • Administrators
  • Business associates
  • Community practitioners
  • Government officers
  • Head of community
  • Professionals
  • Researchers
  • Students

Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, is simply unique. No other city in Malaysia has such a romantic and unlikely history, nor displays its charms with such an easy grace.  The residents of Kuching (pop. 650,000 approx.) enjoy living here, and take great pride in their fascinating city, which is reflected in their attitude to visitors.  Kuching welcomes visitors warmly, but it does not put on an act for them.  Instead it goes about its own business in a relaxed manner that hasn’t changed in 160 years.
